Abstract:
An important literary and cultural phenomenon in the Tang Dynasty, the climate of chivalry appreciation was an important form of scholarly life in which the scholars appreciated and extolled cavaliers to express their cultural psychology. Such virtues in the chivalrous personality as pursuing the ideals of life of prowess, munificence, meritorousness, and freedom to enjoy life were added to the construct of the scholarly ildeals of personality, life and beauty appreciation. The scholars and poets regarded chivalry as an aesthetic imagery for the ideal of life and expressed their vision of making merits and complaint about underappreciation, hence shaping an aesthetic taste of the current cultural spirit to represent a close relationship between the climate of chivalry appreciation and poem writing.
