Abstract:
What nihilism attempts to express is a deep paradox of cultural value, which results necessarily from serious alienation of the “world of meaning” caused by profound separation of “fact” from “value”. This separation makes people give up expectation for spiritual life and pursuit of humanistic reasoning and values, falling deep in anxiety and insecurity about whether a absolutely selfconsistent and selfsufficient subjective personality can be established. In face of the trouble of selfexperiencing practice, we Chinese should absorb and resynthesize advanced thoughts of human civilization in an appropriate way and take a critical and constructive stand in regressing to the original character of our national culture to develop a public community to embody the real “self of our national culture”.
