Abstract:
The Party’s 17th Congress Report stated the value and function of education from the perspective of “improving people’s livelihood”, which was the first attempt in the Party’s history. This statement shows that the current Chinese communists have tried to reinterpret and orientate the value and function of education. This indicates that the mainstream perception of our society with regard to views of education is evolving and advancing from the former “societybased” view to “manbased” and “mancentered” view. An exploratory analysis of the source and spiritual object of this evolution shows a close association with the view of scientific development raised inthe Party’s 17th Congress Report.
