Abstract:
The times of the Five Dynasties and Ten States marked a transition from the Tang to the Song Dynasty. Compared with the Tang Dynasty, many great changes took place in the fields of social economy, especially in production of agricultural industrial crops. In this period of time, such tendencies of development as expansion of productive scale, increase of new species, innovation of productive techniques, and upgrading of professional degree occurred in industries of flowers and plants growing, fruit production, Chinese herbage, aquaculture and silkworm breeding. All this greatly enhanced the degree of commercialization of agricultural economy, laying a foundation for the rapid development of agricultural industrial crops in the North and the South Song Dynasty.
