Abstract:
In contents notes are divided into linguistic, textual, documentary, and artistic notes, whereas in function notes are used respectively to indicate the pronunciation, and formation of a word, to show the reading pattern of a sentence, to explicate the meaning of a word, a sentence, or a grammatical item, to interpret a text, or to explain the function of an artistic device. Notes to words are introduced largely to annotate words in meaning, usage and classification. Moreover, notes for word meaning aim to annotate the primary, extended, contextual and temporary meanings of words.
