Abstract:
Wittgenstein's study of "explanation" and "understanding" can be summarized as "turning to practice". However, it was commonly believed in Western academic world in the early 20th century that "explanation" was the program objective of natural science while "understanding" that of social sciences. Unfortunately, a study of Wittgenstein shows that "explanation" and "understanding" are to be integrated in practice, hence a refutation to the abovementioned dualistic theory.
