Abstract:
The two great tragedies King Oedipus and Dreams in the Red Mansions were separated by a wide gap of space and time, but nearly shared the magicalmetaphor structure of narration, a triple symbolicmetaphor poetic structure carrying three functions and implications to express a consciousness of approximate life paradox and view of fate. In order to represent the spirit of tragedy, the supreme meaning of tragedy, King Oedipus and Dreams in the Red Mansions brought into practice aesthetic poetics of tragedy and projected a merge of Chinese and Western culture and similarity in essence.
