Abstract:
The social function of Chinese characters is realized by interpretation and writing. Therefore, interpretative Chinese philology deals with written Chinese characters. Hence a static Chinese philology. Static philological study can hardly reveal the internal rules of development of Chinese characters nor explain clearly the numerous phenomena in the course of development of Chinese characters. Moreover, with the intensification of writing function, many varied-formed and varied-written words came into being, and the making bases of many Chinese words continue to get lost or re-shaped. Thus, attention should be paid to dynamic writing of Chinese characters and study of dynamic Chinese philology, which has shaped and completed currently with the brilliant contribution of Master Qi Gong.
