As a counteraction to such western philosophic theories as logicism and constructivism, deconstructivism offers a novel theoretical perspective to the academic world in current days. A deconstructivist view of Chinese graphological studies show that, since Chinese traditional linguistics has established a set of fine traditions of its own, Chinese graphological study must break away from the shackles of Europecentered ideology and succeed our own traditions. Meanwhile, we should follow a creative selfreliance road of Chinese graphology to develop innovative theories based on existing facts of Chinese by a pluralist approach by taking advantage of the theoretical advantages of western linguistics.
