Abstract:
Cosmopolitanism is a new ideological conception advocated by the intellectual world all over the globe. The thinking logic of cosmopolitanism demonstrates that the race is no longer a term to discriminate “us” from “others”, and that an absolute exclusiveness is no longer predisposed. This exclusive discriminative mode of thinking (principle of selection) is being replaced by an inclusive discriminative mode of thinking (principle of affirmation). A reflection and examination of Chinese traditional culture from a cosmopolitan view should focus on inquiry, pursuit and rational innovation as regards a novel “cultureideology mode” and exploration of ascertainment, orientation and regulating means of a new practice of survival when we contemplate on the destiny of the world as well as our nation in terms of survival itself. In a word, a cosmopolitan thinking logic can be generalized as speaking to the world with a complete personality.
