Abstract:
The Dreams in the Red Mansions embodies not only a most excellent aesthetic form but also a most profound spiritual implication. The philosophy of The Dreams in the Red Mansions is comprehensive and artistic. Its philosophic view is of cosmic magnificence which knows no bounds of time and space. The basic philosophic issue it concerns is an existentialistic concern, the supreme realm of which is vacuum and nothingness. Its great artistic selfexistence is just a great immortal having, which went through the refinement of “vacuum” and the penetration of form and aspect. Therefore, The Dreams in the Red Mansions has a distinctive philosophy of its own , an interphilosophy which incorporates varieties of Chinese philosophy with Zenist philosophy as the principal axis.
