Abstract:
Xue Yue made multiple accomplishments in histoigraphical thinking. He summarized historical experience and introduced the view of “six masters” and “six subjects”. He made a profound analysis of different effects made by different kinds of masters and subjects on advancement of government. Moreover, he based his political perception of “the king being the head, the officials being the king's help and the people being his supporters” on his understanding of the relationship between the king, officials and people. And his idea of “The subjects' uprightness results from the uprightness of the ruler while everything depends upon work on the part of the subjects” reflects his mind of ideal society.
