And some of those Xinluo monks who came to China between the 8th and the 9th century took China as a medium and continued their journey to India for Buddhist sutras and dharma, and others chose to study Buddhist theory under the instruction of Dade an eminent Chinese monk. These Xinluo monks returned to Xinluo after graduation and laid foundation for the Jiushan Buddhist Sect in Xinluo. In a word, by coming to China for Buddhist dharma, the Xinluo monks realized the loftiest ideal of their Buddhist life and made important contributions for the dissemination of Buddhism in eastern Asia and exchange of Buddhism between the Tang Dynasty and Xinluo.
