Abstract:
With the interpretation of Moncius's conception of cultivating moral character, Du Weiming intended to continue Xu Fuguan's investigation in his “Chinese Spirit of Art” to exploit the concern of ecological aesthetics, hence introducing a new subject and means of aesthetic study, that is, ecological aesthetics. Du's new understanding deserves a close concern from scholars of ecological aesthetics.
