Abstract:
Ye Weilian is well regarded the No. 1 among Chinese scholars to expound the system of Chinese classical aesthetic theory in terms of ecological understanding. From a comparative perspective between China and West, Ye exploited and interpreted the view of “drawing upon great harmony” and “viewing the object from the object's view” in Chinese classical poetics, hence associating it to a phenomenological understanding and also showing a deep concern of ecological aesthetics. All this casts a light on theoretical connections between Chinese ecological aesthetics and ecological literary criticism and other academic fields and on modernization of study of Chinese classical aesthetics of literature and art and participation in current cultural construction.
