Abstract:
New National Classics advocate “individuality” of national academia, which highlights the thematic significance of “traditional culture and contemporary literature”. This not only adds value of study to contemporary regional literature but also locates vanguard literature on a cultural categorization of its own. By criticizing dualistic thinking, New National Classics tend to preserve “integrity” of Chinese academia. Thus, the postmodernistic theoretical context and academic vision of New National Classics make them distinctive and current in spiritual style, ideological tendency and values in the course of reconstructing the ideological demands of “individuality” and “integrity” of Chinese academia.
