Abstract:
Various social contradictions and dilemmas and such social phenomena as fade of traditional personality, abnormality of realistic personality and dimness of ideal personality in “experience-based” Chinese society all indicate that the personality of Chinese citizen has risen to a key issue in the nation-wide attempt to build a harmonious society. Personality is a complex system involving varieties of factors, such as ideal and belief, values, morals, wisdom and willpower. Application of traditional ethics in the citizen's personality calls for a guide of Marxism and a strengthened education of ideal, belief and semantic world. Moreover, we must examine closely the value of our existence, draw upon and utilize our fine cultural tradition and introduce Chinese and Western theoretical resources in personality building to cultivate a sound personality.
