Abstract:
Modernity is a value coordinate of educational modernization and an overall feature in the historical process of educational modernization. The essence of educational modernization is the growth of educational modernity. The modernity character of educational modernization is mainly manifested in the aspects of temporality and spatiality,value, regularity, technicality and criticality. Modernity is also a complex and contradictory unity made up of multiple factors such as progress and destruction. The modernity crisis of educational modernization is manifested in the survival risk caused by weak ecological consciousness, the historical break caused by the subversion of traditional inheritance, the utilitarian orientation caused by the hegemony of instrumental rationality and the spiritual and moral dilemma brought about by the ignorance of value rationality. Educational modernity is an unfinished project. The rationale for promoting educational modernization can be achieved by the following aspects: taking the modernization of ideas as the guide to dispel the ideological fog of modern education; taking the modernization of technology as the means to promote the development of modern education; taking the modernization of human beings as the basis to transcend the personality dilemma of modern education; taking the modernization of the system as the measure to evade the potential problems of modern education, and taking the modernization of environments as the support to ensure the educational space of modern education.
