Abstract:
After World War II, the US and the USSR gradually moved toward confrontation because of varied factors, and the confrontation finally developed to Cold War. In order to win the initiative in the Cold War, the US and the USSR commenced to struggle against each other in almost every sphere, the ideological sphere became the principal sphere for the two countries, and psychological warfare was the major method of the Cold War. Thus, the US government formulated the grand strategy of containment, in which psychological warfare strategy became an important strategy. In the implementation of the targets of the psychological warfare strategy, the US government made full use of student organizations. The results of the study, under the guidance of the historic dialectical materialism and with the methodology of historical analysis, show that the United States National Student Association played an important role in the implementation of the target of the US psychological warfare strategy, and became an indispensible force in the winning of the Cold War.
