Abstract:
Different from the sociological study of The Lv Shi Rural Covenant in the past, The Lv Shi Rural Covenant is put under the view of the academic history of Song and Ming Dynasty’s NeoConfucianism.The Lv Shi Rural Covenant is the product and expression of the cultivation of Guan Xue spirit, which is taught by Zhang Zai. This spirit is manifested in the importance of propriety and learning in practice. Zhu Xi wrote The Increase and Loss to Lv Shi Rural Covenant, or implicitly or explicitly embodied some characteristics of the ChengZhu NeoConfucianism.The Nan’gan Rural Covenant written by Wang Yangming is a product of Wang’s Theory and the practice of rural governance in the Ming Dynasty. In the creation and practice of the rural covenant, the moral education and the cultural spirit of village autonomy is consistent.
