Abstract:
The Ministry of Rites was a critical department in the Jin Dynasty. Its establishment was the main goal of the political reform in the previous period in the Jin Dynasty. This essay maintains that the establishment of the Ministry of Rites could be traced back to as early as Tianhui, the Emperor Taizong, through research from historical records on officials such as ministers and assistant ministers of the Ministry of Rites the before the Jin Dynasty. There are two reasons for the establishment of this government organization. The first is political consideration in reality, namely the various political and economic impacts in the previous period of the Jin Dynasty; another reason comes from the influence of the construction of the culture of the central plain and ritual system.
