Abstract:
The “New College Entrance Examination” is a reform activity which aims to maintain and promote the expression and processing of individual choices of higher education, and its essence is to realize the organic combination, mutual influence and the high degree of unity of the truth, the kindness, the beauty, regulations and the reality. The value orientation of the new college entrance examination is the “humanity” overall development which is based on the difference of “humanity”. And the rediscovery of “humanity” is the most outstanding contribution of the new college entrance examination. The main challenges of the new college entrance examination are mainly from its system design, the profound influence on the ordinary high school and the negative response of ordinary high school. The reason lies in the strong examination oriented educational culture, nationalist tendency of college entrance examination reform, the reality of utilitarian society, an unhealthy social atmosphere, and severe employment pressure. Therefore, the feasible path choices of the “new college entrance examination” are establishing the educational function of the college entrance examination, facing the problems in examination, improving the ability of educational governance, promoting the socialization process of the college entrance examination, and building a modern system of college entrance examination with Chinese characteristics.
