Abstract:
Academic freedom as a legal concept presents an uncertain feature for constant dispute has often occurred over whoever enjoys such freedom and what freedom it is. Behind the dispute over the regular connotation of academic freedom lies the difference in understanding the proper basis of such freedom, which can directly affect our choice of the ensured object and means. The multielement proper basis of academic freedom determines that the advocates of academic freedom include both scholars and students as individuals and universities and other research institutions as collectives. The justifiability of academic freedom will help to promote knowledge growth and social progress, vehicle the value of constitution and carry the responsibility of moral. Academic freedom in our country is faced with several problems, such as getting rid of administrativization, absence of judicial aid and lack of function of professional social groups.
