Abstract:
In his Supplementations to the National History, Li Zhao accepts both the bitter identification of the Yuanhe Style and summarization of the Dali, Zhenyuan and Yuanhe poetic styles, and regards them as poetry classics and as poetic conclusions. Strange enough, however, he totally neglected “the Style School in the Imperial Title of Tianbao” because of his doubt about it.“The Style School” meant appreciation of similarity. That is to say the poems in the Imperial Title of Tianbao of the Prosperous Tang Dynasty showed serious identicalness and stereotype. In terms of mutual synchronization between ideal and spirit, between critical criteria and between way and style of expression, the amazing view of “the Style School in the Imperial Title of Tianbao” was truthful because it cut deep in the negative essence of poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, which offers us a wholesome grasp of the poetry and atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.
