In the history of human civilization, literature as the magnitude of life is done more than necessary, but literature as the carrier of potentials is long neglected. Thus it is a different pursuit of literature and a new path for literary theory to advocate literature as the carrier of potentials. This means literature will realize its primary conception as the carrier of humanities. As a result, literature as the carrier of potentials carves the idea of literature as the carrier of humanities on the depths of humanism. Difficult as it is, it is feasible for literature and literati, for it is the best way for literati to seek.
