Abstract:
The two citybuilding stories in the Tang Dynasty and in Persia respectively nearly shared the organization of plot and mode of narration, which shows the possibility of influencing and borrowing between the two nations. According to the records concerned, the Persian citybuilding story was introduced into China as late as the Period of the Sixteen Kingdoms in Chinese history. This proved that the citybuilding story in the Tang Dynasty was fabricated based on the Persian counterpart. All this demonstrated, between the Wei Kingdom, the Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were not only close exchange of physical culture, frequent transaction of personnel but also very close tie of spiritual culture between China and Persia.
