Double experience refers to the case in which a writer has resided and lived in two countries or regions, where he has obtained enough surviving and aesthetic experience which he can practically express in his literary writing. Du Yunxie resided and lived in mainland China for most of his life, thus mistaken as a nativeborn Chinese by many scholars. As a result, few scholars paid attention to his experience in Southeast Asia, and even fewer showed concern with the double experience in his writings. In fact, however, his writings swarmed with both Chinese and Malaysian feelings, which revealed the true love in the depths of his heart. He used to introduce Southeastern subjectmatters to preconceived Chinese readers and rewrite the memory of Malaysian Chinese from his experience in China. In a word, he had an inseparable delicate relationship with Southeast Asia.
