Abstract:
Schumpeter introduced the four steps of scientific program of economic studies, which were expanded into the five indispensable and evolutionary scientific programs of the mode of his construction theory: discovering valuable economic phenomenon instinctively, categorizing the phenomenon, quantifying the economic category, modeling the economic quantity, and determining the binding conditions for the economic model. Compared with Schumpeter’s classic discussion, serious anomies arose in Chinese economic studies, which presented themselves mainly in the “two extremes”: passionate offer of tactics without scientific analysis and abuse of mathematic models without economic thinking, and in the “one result”, that is, economic research results lacking in innovation. To create convincing authentic research results, Chinese economists will have to regularize their research style, strictly observe the scientific program and norm of economic research to return to the original nature of economic studies.
