In the history of modern Chinese literature, the Poetry Journals of The Likeminds nearly overlapped the course of modernity of new poetry. Each poetry journal mirrored the poetic minds of a group of poets, who invented various poetic forms, such as free verse, new metrical poetry, symbolic poetry, modernistic poetry and so on based on their similar or identical poetic views and practice. As a result, there rose numbers of influential poetic schools, including the onthelake school, newmoon school, modernistic school, July school and nineleaf school, which took the lead of different evolutionary practices of new poetry in different periods. The poetry journals, such as The Onthelake, The New Moon, The Modern Times, The Poetry journal, The Poetic Creation, and Chinese New Poetry thus became the important icons of modernity of new poetry because of their continuous exploration between tradition and modernity, nation and world and individual and people.
