Abstract:
The war between the Xia Dynasty and the Youhu Clan was recorded in The Gan Shi of the Book of History, which thus became an important material in studies of the history of the Early Xia Dynasty. According to the records on historical resources, the Youhu Clan should belong to the one same family as the Xia Dynasty, and they lived and worked mainly within what is now northwestern Yuanwu Town in the county of Yuanyang, Henan Province. After their defeat in the war with the Xia Dynasty, the clan migrated northwards to the reaches of the Yishui River. In this sense, the war between the Youhu Clan and the Xia Dynasty showed the twist in historical progression.
