Abstract:
In times of Sixteen Kingdoms, the kingdom of Han founded by Liu Yuan, the chief of Hun immigrants, was the first regime of northern minorities in Central China in history. “Han”, the dynastic title of his kingdom, and “Zhao”, established by Liu Yao and Shi Le the chief of the ethnic of Jie, were both closely related to the former and preQin dynasties, which set up prominent examples for latercoming minority immigrants to select the dynastic titles for their regimes. Moreover, the choice of “Han” and “Zhao” as dynastic titles really showed the national identification of ethnic immigrants.
