Abstract:
AntiZionism was the long-term position of the Soviet Union. However, since May of 1947, the Soviet Union turned suddenly to support Palestine's ruling separately so as to expand its influence by driving the British out of Palestine. At about the founding of Israeli state in May of 1948, Soviet supplied large quantities of military aids for Israel by way of Eastern European nations, helping the latter to defeat the attack of Arabic nations and win the First Mideast War. Meanwhile, this also paved the way for Soviet to interfere with Mideast affairs.
