Abstract:
Currently, there are six western glossaries (Huayiyiyu) in the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong Reignnamely English Glossary, Italian Glossary, German Glossary, Portuguese Glossary, French Glossary, and Latin Glossary in the Forbidden City. This article examines various versions of Xifan Tibetan Glossaries in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, to carry out a comprehensive review and correction of the Chinese entries in the six western glossaries, and then to explore the relationship between the glossaries and the compilation process, as the next step of compilation and followup research to do basic work.
