Abstract:
As early as the 1920s, the recording and studies of the Chinese Film History had already appeared.Nowadays, the literature of Chinese film history also presents a flourishing situation, among which the Chinese Film History is undoubtedly a milestone.Because this book was created in a special age, there are some aspects about the historical events and characters described in the book needing to be further clarified and explained.It is also important to note that although the book was deeply influenced by the political ecology of the time, it enriched the studies of film history with the era and collective thinking in the form of “potential writing” and “collective writing”.In addition, the historical literature, theoretical system, historiography style and research paradigm used in he book still have farreaching influence.Therefore, it is necessary to reread this great brilliant work and to think about its value to the era, creative collectives, and film history studies objectively and impartially.In this way, it not only helps to expand and optimize the studies of Chinese film history in an orderly way, but also provides a new way of thinking for the establishment of film discourse system with Chinese characteristics.
