Abstract:
In the literary world of the transitional period between the Ming and Qing dynasties, a situation of tripartite confrontation was formed by three different types of prose, which were Qin Han prose, Liu Chao prose and Tang Song classical prose.Each of them rose one after another, and ruled its own domain for years to come.Nevertheless, through the advocacy and practice by those scholars in the transitional period between the Ming and Qing dynasties, Tang and Song classical prose gradually surpassed the other two types and became the aggregation of scholars, the orthodoxy of literary styles, the norm of articles, as well as the source of writing techniques.Thus, it established primacy in the literary world.This article states three significances of establishing the status of Tang and Song classical prose in the transitional period between the Ming and Qing dynasties, which are reconstructing the quintessence of classical proses, rising the ideological trend of practicality, as well as reviving and prospering the authority of civil administration.
